MoMA Plans James Bond Retrospective

To celebrate 50 years of James Bond, who made his onscreen debut with 1962’s Dr. No, the film department at the Museum of Modern Art will host a full retrospective, screening all 22 Bond films in order from Oct. 5 through 31, 2012.

MoMA held a similar retrospective for the 25th anniversary of Bond, when the museum acquired the first 14 films in the series. The new exhibition is also in anticipation of the 23rd Bond film, Skyfall, which comes out in the U.S. Nov. 9 and which MoMA says it will acquire for its collection later this year.

So: if you ever wanted to see Octopussy in the comfort of one of the world’s most prestigious museums, here’s your chance.
