In a press release today Sotheby’s announced that Dr. Tao Wang will serve as the company’s new head for Chinese Works in the Art Department in New York.

Sotheby’s is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr. Tao Wang as Head of the Chinese Works of Art Department in New York. A distinguished academic, Dr. Wang was previously a senior lecturer at The School of Oriental and African Studies in London and relocated to New York over the summer. Dr. Wang was born and educated in China and maintains close links with cultural institutions in the country. He is also a widely published author on a range of subjects relating to Chinese art.

I have spent decades working in this field and look forward to building on my many connections in Asia, Europe and the US to source and sell the finest Chinese works of art.
