Jack Greer’s solo show “Shopping for New Furniture” opened yesterday at the Still House Group space in Red Hook. Whether he’s creating intricate pencil renderings of sharp objects, photographic portraits of heavily tattooed people (superheroes of some suburban netherworld?), or photography-based sculpture, Mr. Greer exhibits an indulgence in texture that can be breathtaking. Literally or figuratively, his subjects are just a little cracked—and all the better for it. Here’s a slide show of what you’ll see at the show.
