To Do Friday: Players Piano and Forte

Jared Angle

Both the Philharmonic and the Ballet have opened their seasons, but now it’s time for a much smaller-scale New York artistic outlet to kick things off. The Salon/Sanctuary Concerts, a series of pre-Romantic music in tiny spaces, begins its season with a mixed bag of artists: countertenor Anthony Roth Costanzo, ballerino Jared Angle and harpsichordist Bradley Brookshire are to join together into some sort of Handel supergroup at the Gramercy Park Players Club … Meanwhile, Mr. Angle’s company, the New York City Ballet, performs an evening of Balanchine and Stravinsky, including Firebird, for those who prefer a slightly grander venue.

Salon/Sanctuary Concert, Players Club, 16 Gramercy Park South, 7pm, tickets and information can be found at; Balanchine/Stravinsky Program, David H. Koch Theater, Lincoln Center, 8pm, tickets and information can be found at
