Anderson Cooper’s often celebrity-oriented daytime chat show, Anderson Live, is returning to what made the anchor famous–hurricanes. (His Friday show was devoted to choosing a Halloween costume.) Mr. Cooper’s co-host today is CNN’s Ashleigh Banfield, and they’ll be discussing hurricane safety; tonight, Mr. Cooper puts on his CNN anchor hat–and rain slicker–for a trip to the Jersey shore.
Mr. Cooper’s rise to prominence was aided by his performative anchoring on rain-battered beaches during hurricanes–and his ire over Hurricane Katrina.
UPDATE: The New York Times reports that Anderson Live has been canceled due to low ratings, and will end its run next summer. Mr. Cooper will remain on prime-time on CNN.
