Frieze Foundation curator Sarah McCrory, who selects artists to make projects at the Frieze Art Fair in London and organizes other special sections of the fair, like Frieze Film, has been tapped to be director of the Glasgow International Festival of Visual Art for the years 2014 to 2016. The two-week GI Festival takes place every two years, and ran this year from late April to early May. Artforum has the story.
Ms. McCrory, who does a superb job tweeting about art in the U.K. under the name @FriezeCurator, was also responsible for Frieze Projects East, which saw the creation of public art projects in East London, according to Artforum.
Just a reminder to all our readers out there: Frieze London opens next week, and runs from Oct. 11 to Oct. 14, with a VIP opening day on Wedneaday, Oct. 10. Make sure to congratulate Ms. McCrory if you run into her there!
