LAND, the Los Angeles Nomadic Division, raised close to $300,000 at its third annual benefit gala. The money will go toward supporting artists making public art.

The benefit honored the artist George Herms, who makes sculptures and installations using found objects and other materials. There was also an online auction by Paddle8 that included work by Hernan Bas, Joe Bradley, Dan Colen, Mark Grotjahn, Mr. Herms, Alex Hubbard, Terence Koh, Amanda Ross-Ho, Garth Weiser and Jonas Wood.

The event was held at the home of Catharine and Jeffrey Soros.
