Land preservation bills pass

TRENTON – The three bills regarding land preservation grants on the Senate agenda Thursday were passed unanimously.

The bills are:

S2246: Passed 39-0. This appropriates $55 million from the 2009 Green Acres Fund for local government open space acquisition and park development projects, and approves $2.4 million from a 1995 bond act for coastal blue acres projects.

S2247: Passed 39-0. This appropriates $8.93 million from the 2009 Green Acres Fund for grants to nonprofit entities to acquire or develop lands for recreation and conservation purposes.

S2248: Passed 38-0. This appropriates $45 million from the 2009 Green Acres Fund and $12 million from the 2009 Blue Acres Fund  for state acquisition of lands for recreation and conservation purposes, including Blue Acres projects.
