Lincoln to Screen as a New York Film Festival ‘Surprise’

Lincoln, Steven Spielberg’s tribute to a time when men were men and Presidents wore big hats, is reportedly this year’s “surprise” screening at the New York Film Festival. The Daniel Day-Lewis film, set to debut shortly after the Presidential election, is to follow in the footsteps of Hugo, which screened last year with little advance fanfare and before its completion. That movie went on to win five Academy Awards.
