Sotheby’s Names Yamini Mehta Head of Indian and Southeast Asian Antiquities, Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art

Yamini Mehta is the new international head of Indian and Southeast Asian antiquities and modern and contemporary South Asian art at Sotheby’s. The auction house announced the appointment of the 14-year Christie’s employee today. Ms. Mehta previously served as head of the London modern and contemporary Indian art department. 

“I am thrilled to be joining Sotheby’s at such an exciting time for the market, with its profile at an all-time high and Indian artists increasingly recognized on the global stage,” Ms. Mehta said in a statement.
