Though some buildings will hold out till Wednesday, tonight’s the night that many city kiddos throw on their costumes and trick-or-treat. In hopes of avoiding the seasonal obligation to give away the Almond Joy bars we bought in bulk to a bunch of 10-year-olds, we’re switching off the lights and sneaking out to the annual All Hallows Eve-themed party for Devorah Rose’s Social Life magazine. (We know—how campy!) Ms. Rose, the indefatigable yet somehow continually endearing self-promoter, and her publisher Justin Mitchell are poised to gawk at a performance by emerging act Madame Mayhem, a pop rocker as spooky-looking as her name suggests.
