For those looking for a chance to catch up with former Mayor Ed Koch and congratulate him either on his mayoralty or his online movie reviews, now’s your chance—shout your well-wishes from the sidewalks as Mr. Koch, along with Vietnam vet Fang Wong, serves as Grand Marshal for Army vets. (The former mayor fought in World War II.) The parade features marshals for each division of the U.S. military—and they’ll be joined at the parade by nine World War II Navajo “Code Talkers,” the Native Americans who transmitted vital messages in their native language—not as well-known as Mr. Koch, but every bit as cheer-worthy.

Fifth Avenue from 26th Street to 56th Street, beginning around 11:00am.
