A Final Ramble Around Miami, From the M Building to the Margulies Collection (NSFW)

Art Basel Miami Beach is over, and even the last of the art handlers who live down there for about two weeks to install and deinstall work at the fair have returned home. To close out the week, the slide show at left offers a final  look back at a few events from that wild week that we have yet to cover. Among the offerings are visits to three of Miami’s major private museums, which belong to the Rubells, the de la Cruzes and the Margulieses; the M Building in Wynwood, where Venus Over Manhattan (Observer contributor Adam Lindemann’s gallery), Zurich’s Eva Presenhuber, Clearing of Bushwick and Brussels, and others set up shop; and the scrappy Seven art fair which took over a building in Wynwood. Because of the graphic nature of Betty Tompkins’s work, who was showing never-before-seen drawings and collages at Venus, this slide show sadly may not be ideally suited to all workplace environments.
