If you’re in the market for a new frame, cut out of work for a little bit today and make your way up to Columbia. The department of drawings and archives at the school’s Avery Architectural and Fine Arts Library is having a frame sale today, and it sounds like there will be some bargains. Full, tantalizing announcement follows:

“Tomorrow, Friday, December 14, the Drawings and Archives is holding a 1 day sale of used frames that have retired from active service for our exhibition loans. Many of these frames have stood guard over Avery drawings in some of the finest museums in the world, now they are ready for service in your home.

“Tomorrow, from 10-1 and 2-5, we will be offering the frames for $5 each, cash and carry only. Most of the frames are wood construction, with plexiglas (a little dinged up), sizes 22×28 to roughly 32×40. There are some metal frames and some really oversize frames and a few smaller ones..

“Bring your wallet, bring your muscle, to the cash and carry frame sale in Avery Drawings and Archives!”

See you there.
