Art in America reports that Christian Marclay’s The Clock had 40,000 viewers during its month-long run at the Museum of Modern Art.

This beats the 11,500 who saw it at Paula Cooper in 2011 and the 18,000 who saw it at Lincoln Center last year. And, keep in mind, the MoMA screening required a paid ticket.

From this data, scientists predict that the next screening of The Clock, at the Winnipeg Art Gallery this September, will be attended by roughly one quarter of the world’s population.
