The Women’s Political Caucus of New Jersey (WPCNJ) Political Action Committee, state Sen. Joseph Vitale (D-19) and Essex County Freeholder Brendan Gill will co-headline a South Orange fundraiser next month for Democratic Party gubernatorial candidate state Sen. Barbara Buono (D-18).
The WPCNJ and Vitale have already gotten publicly out in front for Buono.
The presence of Gill – the statewide director for U.S. Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ) newly emergent in his role as an elected official – indicates another piece of the candidate’s developing coalition.
Scheduled for the home of Patricia Bell, the fundraiser looks to raise $3,800 from “champion” Buono backers, $2,500 from “visionaries,” $1,000 from “hosts,” and $250 from “individuals.”
State Sen. Bob Smith (D-17) is a visible early and enthusiastic supporter of Buono’s. As the campaign takes shape, Team Buono also continues to rely on the political expertise of Assemblyman Joe Cryan (D-20), a former state party chairman who formally endorsed the senator last week.
