TRENTON – Gov. Chris Christie had practical, common-sense advice Friday on the upcoming blizzard: “stay home, avoid unnecessary travel.”
“Generally, be smart and be careful,” he said during a press conference.
He said thousands of state and private-sector trucks will be salting the roads and will be ready to remove snow.
On the N.J. Turnpike, the speed limit has been reduced to 45 mph from Newark going north, he said.
Plows have been placed on NJ Transit trains.
Snow accumulations could range from 1 to 2 inches in the south to as much as 15 inches in the northernmost regions of the state, according to forecasters.
