The administration released state aid figures today, detailing how the governor will dole out $1.37 billion to the state’s municipalities.
Nearly every municipality in the state received flat funding with only Newark, Camden and Maurice River Township receiving additional aid. Those three towns received a total of $22 million more, which translates to the amount of transitional aid they received in the current fiscal year.
Newark received an additional $10 million, while Camden was awarded another $12 million. That is $3.5 million less than Camden received in transitional aid in the current fiscal year. Maurice River received an additional $265,000, the same amount received in transitional aid in the current fiscal year.
Gov. Chris Christie had reduced the amount of transitional aid by $22 million, leaving $94 million to be doled to distressed cities as part of an application process later in the year.
