LITTLE FERRY – Gov. Chris Christie says he’s not losing any sleep over Democratic lawmakers’ decision to move forward on a proposal that aims to seek subpoena power against uncooperative state officials.
The governor gave his comments during a morning news conference today shortly after the Assembly Budget Committee approved a proposal that Democrats say will pressure state departments and employees to cooperate with lawmakers.
“It’s political season,” Christie said.
He said his administration will testify before the Legislature just as they have been doing and didn’t indicate that officials had any intentions to deviate from those plans.
“The rest of this stuff is just politics,” he said. “They’re looking to get their names in the paper.”
