Occhipinti’s parade critique of Zim stirs buzz about mayoral run

He’s not mad because he was deprived of an opportunity to be grand marshal.

Hoboken Councilman Tim Occhipinti is mulling a run for mayor, according to sources in the mile-square city.

His public savaging Mayor Dawn Zimmer for cancelling the St. Patrick’s Day Parade suggests Occhipinti sees himself making the command decisions in town.

“He’s thinking about it,” a source told PolitickerNJ.com.

Already in the November mayor’s race are Zimmer and Assemblyman Ruben Ramos (D-33).
