sandro, a French-flavored fashion line for women and men designed by attractive mother-and-son team Evelyne and Ilan Chetrite, made its mark on the style map in Paris in 1984 with a dress of patterned patchwork and bubble sleeves that was immediately dubbed “boho chic.” The line is now huge in France, and it is both classic and edgy—picture a simple black dress that has been dipped at the hem in bleach for some tie-dye decadence. The Chetrites are opening their first U.S. flagship shop in Soho with a bash hosted by Elle’s marketing director, Joann Pailey. The invitation promises “gift upon entry,” which means we will be making our entrance early.
