New York’s International Center of Photography announced today that it will honor Academy Award–winning actor Jeff Bridges for his work in photography at its annual gala. Though he’s better known for his work in front of the camera, Mr. Bridges has been quietly snapping behind-the-scenes shots of his films for 30 years, and ICP will offer a special presentation of his work at its 29th annual Infinity Awards celebration on May 1.

Mr. Bridges’s photographs, which include playful pictures of Matt Damon paling around on the set of True Grit and his own head covered in plaster for Tron: Legacy, are available on his website. One can also find them in his first monograph Pictures: Photographs by Jeff Bridges (2006). A second collection of his work, this one titled Jeff Bridges: Portraits, will be published in 2014 by Chronicle Books.
