The Passaic County Democratic Committee officially awarded the organization’s slogan to Newark Mayor Cory Booker in the Democratic Primary for U.S. Senate.
Booker was nominated by the municipal chairs and ratified by the full county committee membership at the meeting in Clifton.
Booker was nominated by West Milford and seconded by Paterson before being ratified without dissent.
It’s an open primary, so there is no line, but the mayor can campaign with the official organization slogan.
Despite the organizational love, a source close to Passaic politics pointed out that Speaker Sheila Oliver (D-34), who is also running in the primary, has deep urban loyalties in the northern county.
