It’s worth noting…

There was a man on the stage last night at Democratic gubernatorial nominee Barbara Buono’s celebration who drove all the way up to Edison from Gloucester County, and no, we aren’t talking about Senate President Steve Sweeney (D-3), who was also present.

Logan Township Mayor Frank Minor joined the other revelers above the crowd after Buono delivered her speech.

He was the most visible South Jersey Democrat who stayed for the entirety of the party.

Asked to comment about Minor as a potential candidate for lieutenant governor, a source close to Buono said the campaign is focused on the fight to make Assemblyman Jason O’Donnell (D-31) the next state party chairman and not commenting on LG prospects.

Sources close to the campaign in recent days have told PolitickerNJ.com that they want to consider South Jersey candidates in an effort to unify a badly fractured party. Another campaign source said the Buono team is strongly considering an African American pick to be the Democrat’s running mate.

Minor, re-elected mayor just last year, checks both those boxes.
