Former ELEC head joins Ethics Committee

TRENTON – Former longtime executive director of the N.J. Election Law Enforcement Commission Frederick Hermann has replaced Peter Inverso on the Joint Committee on Ethical Standards.

Inverso, who is seeking election to the Senate, has stepped down.

Also, the committee Tuesday paid respects to Alan Rosenthal, who passed away earlier this month. He had been chair of the committee since it was reconstituted in 2009.

Commission Vice Chair John Harper said Rosenthal was so well regarded then and now that when the committee was brought back into action, provisions were put into the law that specified certain qualifications be held by the committee chair, and that was done with Rosenthal’s abilities in mind.

The committee held a moment of silence for the longtime Rutgers professor and highly regarded expert on state government.
