Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul is scheduled to hit New Jersey tomorrow for a rally, where he will endorse Republican Steve Lonegan for U.S. Senate.
But Democrat Cory Booker is not taking Paul’s appearance lying down. The Newark mayor who is challenging Lonegan for the seat has planned a conference call for 10:30 to discuss the visit.
“On a conference call tomorrow, New Jersey elected officials and residents will discuss U.S. Sen. Rand Paul’s visit to New Jersey on behalf of Steve Lonegan,” A release on the call reads. “Lonegan and Paul both opposed federal aid for victims of Superstorm Sandy and both are leaders of the Tea Party movement – Lonegan as the former head of the New Jersey chapter of the Koch Brothers-funded Americans for Prosperity.”
