However I’ve been a reporter/editor on the media beat in B2B publishing for seven years, so now feels like the time to move on and do something different,” Mr. Smith wrote. “And why BuzzFeed? Put simply, it’s a huge and enjoyable challenge to make content for a much larger audience, in the context of entertaining and informing.”
Mr. Smith will be based in London and focus on the British media industry, something that BuzzFeed UK editor Luke Lewis said is a uniquely British fixation.
“What we want to do with BuzzFeed UK is tap into those perennial British obsessions, and the media is absolutely one of those,” BuzzFeed UK editor Luke Lewis said. “Of course, we have the liveliest press in the world, so it makes perfect sense to report on it – which we will of course do in the entertaining and accessible way that people expect from BuzzFeed.”
