Jersey City man declares CD10 candidacy

A candidate today stepped forward as a 2014 Democratic Primary candidate for the 10th Congressional District seat occupied by U.S. Rep. Donald Payne, Jr. (D-10).

“I am one of you; one of ‘We the People’,” said Aaron Fraser of Jersey City. “I believe that my life’s experiences, my abilities, skills, political philosophy and understanding of the issues uniquely qualify me to be an authentic representative of “We the People” and positions me as the best candidate for the House of Representatives in 2014. There are some who believe that we need to re-make and/or re-take America. I could not disagree more.  America and the Democratic Party need to continue to be committed to the enduring principles of the Democratic party.”

Born and reared in Harlem, Fraser is the oldest of six children reared by a single mother in a New York City Housing project. After serving a lengthy prison sentence, he soon realized “that education was the only way out,” he said.

Honorably discharged from the United States Army, he attended Mercy College, where he received both a Bachelor and Master Degree in Organizational Leadership, according to a release issued this morning by the candidate. He went on to further his studies at Metropolitan College of New York where he received an MBA in Media Management.
