Federal agents today raided the home of a politically connected eye doctor in West Palm Beach, according to a story in The Palm Beach Post.
It’s reportedly the second time Dr. Solomon Melgen”s gotten a house call from the FBI.
“About 15 to 20 agents came to… Melgen’s office in the 2500 block of Metro Centre Boulevard Tuesday morning and spent about three hours there, loading several boxes into a van. The parking lot was taped off, and arriving patients were told their appointments were canceled,” according to the paper. “After the FBI removed 30 boxes of documents and other material from Melgen’s office in January, the Washington Post reported in March that a Miami federal grand jury was investigating U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez, D-N.J., for his role in advocating for the business interests of Melgen, a wealthy donor and friend to the senator.”
