To Do Friday: Dana Rossi’s ‘Soundtrack Series’

Dana Rossi.

Dana Rossi.

Dana Rossi’s popular music and storytelling show Soundtrack Series migrates to Queens for the night, featuring Mark Douglas, Jeff Woodton, Maggie Serota, Bob Khosravi, R. Eric Thomas and Micaela Blei sharing the music videos that mattered most to them. Your ticket includes admission to the museum’s galleries. Ms. Rossi was inspired by an earlier event at the Museum and told The Observer, “We love doing shows at the Museum of the Moving Image, because, through personal stories, we’re able to show the impact of music video from the viewpoint of the fan—why we’d sit up all night to wait for MTV to play ‘November Rain’ or how Whitney Houston’s inability to dance meant the world to a clumsy kid.”

Museum of the Moving Image, 36-01 35 Avenue, Astoria, 718-777-6800, 7:30 p.m., $12 ($9 seniors/students, free for museum members)
