Rochester, N.Y.’s George Eastman House today announced that it has tapped curator Lisa Hostetler to head its photography department. Dr. Hostetler comes to the world’s oldest photography museum—it was founded in 1947—from Washington, D.C.’s Smithsonian American Art Museum, where was named curator of photography last year.

Dr. Hostetler has previously served as curator of photographs at the Milwaukee Art Museum and research associate in the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s photography department. She will start in her new role before the end of the year.
