Los Angeles gallery Blum & Poe will be opening a New York outpost on the Upper East Side this spring, and they’ve hired a director. Andrea Neustein, formerly the director of Lower East Side gallery Miguel Abreu, will be leaving that job of four years to join the L.A. powerhouse’s first foray in the New York art world. Blum & Poe’s roster includes Carroll Dunham, Takashi Murakami, Jim Shaw and Henry Taylor, among others.

In an e-mail sent out to colleagues and friends this afternoon, Ms. Neustein, the daughter of artist Joshua Neustein, wrote, “I am so thankful for the diverse and dynamic experiences I have shared with the Miguel Abreu family, and have the most sincere abiding respect for our truly phenomenal roster of artists, and the incomparable program that Miguel has assembled.”
