A recent study found that Instagram users who post too much or too often see less interaction from their followers, the New York Daily News reports. And that’s regardless of how many hordes of followers they have.
“The more you post, the less feedback you’re going to get,” the Daily News quoted Saeideh Bakhshi as saying. Ms. Bakhshi worked on the study with other researchers from Georgia Institute of Technology and Yahoo Labs.
Another fun fact from Ms. Bakhshi: “Posting too much decreases likes two times faster than comments.”
The study also showed that posting selfies might be the key to Instagram popularity: photos with faces in them are 38 percent more likely to be liked are 32 percent more likely to attract comments. The importance of selfie-style photos isn’t exactly news.
