Hope she has Find My iPhone.

It may be April Fools’ Day, but this stunt was all too real.

The NYPD is searching for a man who stole his date’s iPhone after she refused to go home with him. The incident occurred on Metropolitan Avenue, near Lorimer Street in Williamsburg at about 1:15 a.m. Monday morning.

The 24-year-old man and his 22-year-old companion were on a date Sunday night. As it wound down in the wee hours of Monday, he asked her to come back to his place, and she refused. The man then nicked the phone from the woman’s hand and ran into a nearby subway station, according to the police.

This is the latest in a rash of Apple product thefts in the 94th Precinct, according to DNAinfo. A man had his iPhone stolen at gunpoint on Jackson Street on March 24. Also, a Mac computer was stolen from a coffee shop in Greenpoint on March 29.

Here’s hoping all these people get an appointment with the Genius Bar in their Easter baskets.
