It’s the empanada versus the egg sandwich!

GrubHub and Seamless tallied up what New Yorkers order online by borough and shared it with amNewYork. According to their data, empanadas are the first choice of Manhattanites, egg sandwiches ranked first in Queens, smoothies were the go to option for Brooklyn inhabitants, tostadas came in first in the Bronx and Staten Island prefers rice balls.

Abby Hunt, a spokeswoman for GrubHub and Seamless said these choices reflected each neighborhood’s culture as well as the available restaurants in each sector.

Also included in the findings were the most-ordered foods in the city since May 2013. Waist-conscious Manhattan preferred salad, Queens and the Bronx stuck to the traditional burger and pizza was the go-to option in Staten Island.

Whatever happened to ordering Chinese? Apparently there is not so much love for fried rice and spring rolls anymore.
