National woman’s advocacy group endorses Watson Coleman in CD 12

A national organization dedicated to funding campaigns of women seeking elected office endorsed Assemblywoman Bonnie Watson Coleman’s (D-15) congressional bid over her female Democratic rival.

The Women’s Campaign Fund is backing Watson Coleman as the state lawmaker competes to succeed outgoing U.S. Rep. Rush Holt (D-12) against state Sen. Linda Greenstein (D-14) and two other Democratic rivals.

“Women’s Campaign Fund is proud to endorse Bonnie in her race for New Jersey’s 12th Congressional District,” said Clare Bresnahan, Political & Programs director of WCF, in a statement.

“New Jersey hasn’t had a woman’s voice in Congress in 10 years,” she said. “Electing a highly qualified woman leader like Bonnie would be a great way to end that embarrassing streak.”

Watson Coleman and Greenstein are also competing against Assemblyman Upendra Chivukula and Princeton professor Andrew Zwicker.
