After making front and center appearances in the Chanel, Adam Selman and Fendi Spring Fashion Shows, it’s no secret that headphones are fashion’s new accessory du jour.
Standard-issue white earbuds are no more, as the over-ear headphone takeover continues and designer collaborations up the ante.
And while anyone who isn’t Karl Lagerfeld or Swizz Beatz may never get their hands on those black quilted Chanel headphones, here are a few equally dazzling alternatives to play your music in style.
Frends with Benefits 'Taylor' Headphones
These leather-wrapped headphones, which come in rose, gold, and oil slick, are just as fabulous as they are functional. Not only do they come with a leather “Frends” gold embossed carrying case, but the headphone caps are interchangeable too (one is more opulent than the next!). A collapsible headband, noise reduction and memory-foam ear cushions round out the Taylor’s perfect mix of comfort and chicness.
Monster Diamond Tears
Diamonds are a girl’s best friend, so naturally these Monster Diamond Tears will make for a girl’s best headphones. The sparkly headphones come in black/blue and white/silver, and are the perfect combination of couture and comfort. There’s no amplification or noise cancellation circuitry to add other frequencies to the sound—the dense foam ear cushion keeps sound out—so the uncompromising music quality of these headphones is second to none. Most importantly, their gleaming surface and embedded bling will make you the envy of diamond lovers everywhere.

Urban Decay x Skullcandy Knockout
The brightest, girliest headphones would, naturally, be the outcome of a perfect Skullcandy and Urban Decay marriage. Inspired by Urban Decay’s latest funky palette, Electric, these limited edition headphones are nothing short of perfect. They sit around your ear, not on top of them, to keep you comfortable and help block out the background noise. Designed specifically for women, these bright headphones come with the same perks of any other pair of Skullcandys: except that fabulous artwork!
Beats by Dr. Dre Solo2
Beats’ classic, already-fabulous headphones have officially been revamped. The Ferrari of all headphones, the more compact Beats Solo2 is available in colors like hot pink, fire red, slate blue, and pure white. They come with no visible screws, heat-dissipating earphones, and a more-flexible-than-ever headband. But the best part by far is the iPhone-compatible RemoteTalk™ cable, which lets you change songs, adjust volume and answer calls without having to fumble around for your device.

Tumi Headphones by Monster
Say goodbye to crying babies and noisy traffic with Tumi’s noise cancelling headphones. The sleek, innovative design is not as bulky or conspicuous as other noise cancelling headphone styles. These Tumi’s come with a 3-piece cable set, a travel case, and three swappable headbands: black ballistic, black leather, and brown leather. Designed with the commuter in mind, these compact headphones can go anywhere with you (and look good doing it!)
Fendi x Beats by Dr. Dre
(Expected in January; $1,300.00)
After collaborating with designer Alexander Wang last fall, Beats’ latest collaboration is with Fendi. The headphones, which debuted at Fendi’s SS 2015 Milan Fashion Week show, will be embossed with their logo and made of Selleria leather, just like Fendi’s handbags. As of now, they will be available in red, baby blue, white, black, and black crocodile. An official price has not been confirmed, but dreamers: for $1,300, those ear cushions better feel like clouds.
