Study: Dads Are Ogling 'Teen' Cam Girls While Moms Drop Kids Off At School

It's the back-to-school trend you won't see in Kmart commercials.

It’s back to school, and you know who’s most excited? No, it’s not little Bobbie and Suzie who are ready to start the new year with a clean slate. It’s dads, who are making the best of that blessed hour when the missus is dropping the kids off at school by camming with live models.

A study by cam site Jasmin.com shows that when the world’s dads suddenly find themselves with alone time in the morning, they’ve been showing up in droves to catch up with their favorite models.

“Most of our users, from what we understand, are fathers,” Jasmin.com Vice President Jerry Jardene told Betabeat. “Back to school is a big time for us.”

The data shows that in the first week of September, user engagement between 7:00 and 9:00 a.m. spiked 92 percent from August’s morning average. The peak moment for traffic was about 8:30. This back-to-school season is Jasmin’s busiest yet, with users in New York, California and Florida “leading the ‘school’s back’ celebration.”

But how can Jasmin be sure that the start of the school year is the catalyst for the sudden activity? For one, the inspiration for the study came from the development team that deals one-on-one with the models — but it’s also the only theory that makes sense. The only other thing remarkable about the first week of September, Mr. Jardene said, was the beginning of football season.

“Unless a lot of our members play for the NFL, we guess that it’s going back to school,” Mr. Jardene said.

The crowning detail of the study is that during back-to-school season, the highest demand is for live models in the “Teen” category. There’s something about that correlation that’s just… icky.
