In addition to the appointment of the office’s “Dr. Kevorkian” of numbers David Rosen to the position of interim executive director, the Legislative Services Commission also promoted Assistant Legislative Counsel James G. Willson to the Office of Legislative Service’s Legislative Counsel on an interim basis during their meeting yesterday.
Wilson, also the Assistant Counsel to the Joint Legislative Committee on Ethical Standards, has served with the OLS Legislative Counsel’s Office since 1987. He joins Rosen in replacing previous office head Albert Porroni, who retired at the end of 2014 after holding the dual positions of Executive Director and Legislative Counsel for 30 years.
The Commission agreed to split the titles into two separate positions. Commission members at yesterday’s meeting said a nationwide search is currently under way to fill the important executive posts.
The Commission is also conducting a search for the position of Legislative Budget and Finance Officer, which will be vacant as of Rosen’s anticipated retirement later this year.
