The Torch Defiantly on the Trail in the Face of Chastising Bosses

Torricelli

Torricelli

Short of former Senator Robert Torricelli taking a swan dive in a parachute off the Borgata as part of a campaign stunt, don’t look for another post like this one anytime soon.

PolitickerNJ has already written several stories about Torricelli in full-bore political animal mode around the state, but it is worth noting at least today after another blizzard of text messages and phone calls, that the Torch continues to blaze an avid trail around the state despite his getting slapped two weeks ago by party bosses telling him to slow down.

Essex County Executive Joe DiVincenzo and South Jersey Democratic Leader George Norcross III both chastised Torricelli for politicking openly while U.S. Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ) dangles from a federal indictment.

Apparently their denunciation bounced off Torricelli.

In the last few days, he appeared in Allenhurst for a beach bash thrown by the Democratic State Committee. Then, over the weekend, he surfaced with state Senator Ray Lesniak (D-20) and Union County Sheriff Joe Cryan for a very well-attended Colombian Festival.
