It turns out that Marvel’s Daredevil will NOT do battle with DC Comics’ two biggest titans Batman and Superman, as some reported, but it does look like he’ll have to contend with a whole lot of bullets. In a new teaser, Netflix confirmed the second season of Daredevil will premiere March 18, exclusively on the streaming network.
The news comes a week after Entertainment Weekly debuted the first look at The Walking Dead alum Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, AKA The Punisher, in an image straight from the comic books. While the new teaser is void of any new footage, a hail storm of bullets ripping apart Matt Murdock’s moral sanctuary is a sign that Bernthal’s Punisher will be the gun-toting, criminal-murdering, skull-wearing sonuvabitch we know and love.
Plus, with little to no word on whether Vincent D’Onofrio will reprise his brilliant take on Wilson Fisk, it’s intriguing to see the teaser so prominently featuring the dulcet tones of Hell’s Kitchen’s Kingpin. This, with the teaser, together with the promise of Elodie Yung’s Elektra, PLUS the fact Jessica Jones and Luke Cage are hanging out like, four blocks from all of Daredevil‘s central action? You might as well purchase your ticket to the hype train now, because it’s leaving the station.
