GOP Source Would Be Surprised if Christie Doesn’t Exit NJ for Trump Land Job

Scuffed up and besmirched and nearly bottomed out with a 19% job approval rating, Governor Chris Christie appears poised to receive a rope ladder offering from his early choice for president, the newly victorious Donald J. Trump.

“I don’t see how he doesn’t,” a Republican establishment source told PolitickerNJ last night when asked if Christie would leave his current job for a position in a fledgling Trump Administration.

If Christie were to leave, he would hand off the governorship by law to Kim Guadagno, the state’s lieutenant governor, who would be poised to run for a full, four-year term from the office of governor.

Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli (R-Somerset) hinted in the past that he would prefer not to run against Guadagno were she the sitting governor, but a source this morning said the already declared assemblyman might be in do or die mode at this point regarding guv 2017.
