Trump Backer Rullo Says 2017 NJ Guv Rivals Should Consider Withdrawing

Businessman Joe Rullo of Ocean County went all in with Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, and he feels the non-support from his rivals in the 2017 gubernatorial contest will haunt them.

A declared candidate for governor, Rullo doesn’t intend to let go of Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno’s and Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli’s (R-Somerset) decisions to not back Trump.

“Win or lose for Trump this evening, I feel my two Republican elected opponents who didn’t vote Republican for President have disqualified themselves for the upcoming Governor primary in June,” Rullo said in a Facebook post.

“Both Lt. Governor Guadagno and Assemblyman Jack Ciaterelli should consider withdrawing from the race,” he added. “Republicans aren’t interested in hearing why they didn’t join us to defeat Hillary Clinton! I believe they politically miscalculated the gravity of their political posturing to appease a blue state.”
