A Truly Great Lena Dunham Impersonator Auditions for Zero Dark Thirty (Video)

This is Chelsea Davison. She does a creepily good impression of Lena Dunham auditioning for Zero Dark Thirty. She is very talented. Definitely the parody voice of this generation, even though in general people who “do voices” for a living are one step above mimes, in our book. But there were some great mimes, like Marcel Marceau, and this is a great impersonation. Just watch. Read More

Oberlin Finds Way to Take Advantage of Its Most Culturally Relevant Alum

Hey, remember that scene in Girls last season when they flashed back to a party at Oberlin College, where Marnie had eaten that pot brownie and had a panic attack and Hannah’s gay boyfriend got Charlie to take care of her?

Well that actually happened! Well, not really. We’re pretty sure the show isn’t an exact autobiography, because some of us went to Oberlin and don’t remember seeing Allison Williams around. But we do remember seeing Lena Dunham out and about, especially at the offices of The Grape, our “alternative” student newspaper. (That appropriately has no web presence besides a dead link.)

Will we ever care about Jessa, or stop caring about Ray? (Alex Karpovsky is our new crush, for now and forever.) We hope the season finale will answer some, if not all of these questions!

In the meantime, here is Lena Dunham on Late Night Wednesday night, where she told Jimmy Fallon about her very weird high school crush on him. (It involved a play she wrote, obviously!) Read More

A Video Primer for Lena Dunham’s Upcoming Apatow/HBO Collaboration, Girls

Are you very excited for HBO’s April premiere of Girls, written and directed by New York indie film darling Lena Dunham and produced by Judd Apatow? Because it has a trailer now!

Hard to believe, but a lot of people outside of New York and Los Angeles still don’t know who the 25-year-old is, or why she will be appearing on their television sets. If they have heard of her, it’s because of her SXSW hit, Tiny Furniture, or the multiple profile pieces it spawned. (Not to mention the news that Mr. Apatow had taken Ms. Dunham under her wing, not just for Girls but as a leading lady in his Knocked Up spin-off, This is 40.) Read More
