A round of pats on the back is in order for anyone who's been speculating about News Corp.'s eventual spinoff of MySpace, which it&nbsp;<a href="http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/4695495.stm">bought for $580 million back in 2005</a>. paidContent reports:</p>
<blockquote><p>"With a new structure in place,&nbsp;now is the right time to consider strategic options&nbsp;for this business," COO Chase Carey told analysts. "The new MySpace has been very well received by the market and we have some very encouraging metrics. But the plan to allow MySpace to reach it's full potential&nbsp;may be best achieved under a new owner."</p>

<p>According to this <a href="http://www.quora.com/Who-will-buy-MySpace-and-at-what-price?q=who+wants+to+">thread on Quora</a>, Apple, Yahoo, Aol, or some kind of private venture may kick the tires, but the eventual acquirer is anyone's guess. Maybe the social network's&nbsp;<a href="/2011/tech/myspace-masses-users-unite-network-buyout-bid">users will take a crack at it</a>.</p>
