Jessica Misener, the senior editor of Huffington Post's Style vertical, is departing for the buzzier shores of BuzzFeed, where she will be an editor. Ms. Misener will start on February 6.

"Jessica brings with her a lot of enthusiasm for the social web and a wide background of digital experience, as well as a deft sense for the kind of content that people love to share," Scott Lamb, BuzzFeed's editorial director said in an email. "We couldn't be happier she's joining us."

Ms. Misener has been at HuffPo's style vertical since October 2011 and was promoted to senior editor just last September. Before HuffPo, she spent two years running Lovelyish, Xenga.com's style vertical.

"I've had a great year at Huffington Post working on style, and I'm excited to branch out into a wider variety of coverage at BuzzFeed and be fully immersed in the social web," Ms. Misener said in an email to the Observer. "I'm thrilled to be joining them."

Ms. Misener, who has a master's in religion and classical antiquity from Yale, was a rare book librarian before moving over to write for the Internet. Like most New York writers. Ms. Misener lives in Brooklyn, but, as she notes on her website, has yet to try the borough's famous artisanal mayonnaise.

The L.A. bureau will also house BuzzFeed Video, the video team that Ze Frank was tapped to run last month.

BuzzFeed has seemingly been on a hiring spree since the end of last year when they hired Ben Smith to expand their original content offerings. The social news site's latest addition is web video pioneer Ze Frank, who has signed on as Buzzfeed's Executive Vice President Of Video. In a statement announcing the hiring of Mr. Frank, BuzzFeed’s Founder & CEO, Jonah Peretti, said he hopes his newest staffer will do with YouTube what the click generating, social news site has already done with Facebook and Twitter.

“As a social publisher, BuzzFeed's growth has been driven by Facebook and Twitter and we are thrilled that Ze Frank is joining to extend our work to YouTube,” said Mr. Peretti.

Mr. Frank became famous in 2006 for “The Show with Ze Frank,” a yearlong online series that was seen as a template for the modern video blog. He restarted his eponymous show this year after getting funding from Kickstarter. He plans to continue that endeavor. At BuzzFeed, Mr. Frank will work with the editorial team to produce video content and help advertisers make sponsored, branded content.

Buzzfeed's newly minted EVP and a merry team of video producers will start creating content for BuzzFeed ASAP on the West Coast.

“I've been a longtime fan of the way that BuzzFeed creates and curates great social content, so it's a thrill to join them. There is a great opportunity to bring BuzzFeed's philosophy to the wild west of online video and I'm excited to be putting together a talented team in LA to make that happen,” Mr. Frank said in a statement.

A tipster points us the way of hasbuzzfeedhiredanyonenewtoday.tumblr.com, a single-serving site tracking Buzzfeed hires on a daily basis. And guess what you'll find if you click today? The words "YEP, IT'S A GIRL" with a link to Hillary Reinsberg's Twitter feed, wherein the Abrams Media employee who writes for pun-and-wordplay-connoisseur website The Jane Dough announces her hiring at Buzzfeed.

Some personal news: very excited to be joining @BuzzFeed in 2 weeks! I'll be writing about lady things! Expect lots of LOL and OMG.

This is very useful for, like, twenty (ish) media reporters and those Buzzfeed employees who want to better know the people they're going be sharing their increasingly small workspaces with. Still: Servicey!

With sharpened poaching-spears in hand, Peretti has taken from Politico (with Subject #1: Buzzfeed editor-in-chief Ben Smith), Gawker, Rolling Stone, The Village Voice, New York, and surely a bunch of others that are difficult to keep track of.
