Romney and Cooo-stanza!

Last night during the last Republican presidential debates, former Massachusetts governor and second-placer Mitt Romney made an adorable pop culture reference to Seinfeld during the CNN live broadcast, in what we can only assume was an futile attempt to sway the Jewish vote in Arizona.

Which would have been fine, had he actually gotten the correct line. Or the right character.

"As George Costanza would say," Governor Romney quipped, "When they’re applauding, stop."

Scott Lamb from Buzzfeed pointed out that this was in fact, not the correct line. Or even the correct character.

The actual quote (from "Seinfeld" episode 172, "The Burning"):

JERRY: Showmanship, George. When you hit that high note, you say goodnight and walk off.

Well, we think we're all missing the important point here people: Mitt Romney has seen Seinfeld.

Jason Alexander, the actor who played George Costanza, tweeted out almost immediately his response to the honor of having a misquote wrongly appropriated to him, which Mediaite picked up.

So the real question is: Who has taken over Jason Alexander's Twitter account to semi-endorse the candidate Gov. Romney used 2 be?
