It’s ICSC week in New York City and while many in the retail business consider the event secondary to the larger conference held by the organization in Las Vegas each May, for many Manhattan real estate brokers, the conference is the most important of the year—and not necessarily just because of its jam-packed daytime roster of speakers and seminars.
In establishments from the New York Times’s four-star-rated Del Posto to the Dream Hotel in Lower Manhattan, buttoned-up retail brokers will be wining and dining potential clients during a two-day orgy of after-hour soirees, dinners and suds-soaked meetings, all designed with the deal in mind.
It looks like we’re not the only ones who have beef with the management at the Dream Hotel. The owner and general manager of the hotel’s rooftop bar, the AVA Lounge, got slapped with a fat lawsuit by former female employees, the Daily News reports.
The ladies claim they were harassed by the general manager, Jason Ash, who terrorized them with his libidinous advances.

We were wondering what the story was behind the Lindsay Lohan checkpoints at the Dream Downtown earlier this week during the Marc Jacobs party, but were satisfied with the answer that LiLo’s tanty at the V Magazine event the night before was the reason for her Dream-ban.
Page Six tells a much more sordid story of Ms. Lohan’s relationship with the hotel…and its owner Vikram Chatwal, with who she’s been photographed kissing (and has possibly moved in with?), apparently unaware that Mr. Chatwal’s estranged wife Priya Sachdev would be coming back from India this week.
Last night at PH-D, the rooftop hotspot atop the Dream Downtown, BlackBook magazine hosted a party to celebrate its 15th year of publication. Cover boy/True Blood vampire Alexander Skarsgård was there, as were flocks of girls stretching their iPhones toward his booth to get a picture of him.
Yet, the other guests of honor—critical darling rap group Das Racist—were not as impressed with the fashion party. Before, during, and after their short performance (part straight-faced performance art, part tag-team rap mayhem; one onlooker noted that they appeared to be texting while on stage), they took to Twitter to air some grievances.

The seaside, southern Indian city of Cochin is on “India time,” which technically means nine and a half hours ahead of the West Village, but also denotes the indigenous relaxed vibe.

On a recent frosty Tuesday night, taxi doors slammed as people piled out and streamed towards Pacha, a nightclub in the West 40’s. With lips pursed—the way lips can only do when speaking French—people called out to friends waiting in line or talked excitedly into their cell phones, hoping to reach the one person who’d Read More
