A Pretty Parking Lot Opens in the Bronx

Regular readers know that as ambivalent as we are about driving in the city, The Observer sure loves an attractive parking structure. Last July, we looked at one under construction at the New York Botanic Garden, up the Bronx, that also doubled as a park-and-ride spot for the local MetroNorth stop—attractive mass transit! Another Pretty Parking Lot For New York, This Time in the Bronx

Back in June, The Observer marveled at a parking lot the city was rehabilitating on the Lower East Side. Yes, we marveled at a parking lot. That is because the city’s Public Design Excellence program was hard at work showing utilitarian structures need not be unsightly ones.
