The turn-of-the-century haunted house look-alike inhabited by Mr. Destri and his wife, Eileen, features turrets, a wrap-around porch, seven bedrooms and a sprawling lot. But even the dextrous Mr. Destri couldn't manage to rid himself of this singular property. The house at 220 77th Street, in Bay Ridge--about as far as one can get from the Bowery and still be in the five boroughs--was listed with Re/max Metro's Edward Davis for $1.995 million in May 2009, but it's endured more price chops than an aging rocker's best-of collection. 

Perhaps the house was slow to sell because it's so slow getting to and from Bay Ridge--especially if snowed in. And who but a former punk phenom with 40 million record sales under his belt can handle such a commute? How about someone who doesn't have to. The buyers are Dmitry Epelboym, a Bay Ridge-based cosmetic dentist, and his wife, Lidia. 

The couple were probably sold on the kitchen, where you can eat to the beat.
